ARTIST SUPPORT PLEDGE - A Generous Space 3

I’m thrilled to have had another woven piece selected for the third ASP international group exhibition called ‘A Generous Space 3’ at Huddersfield Art Gallery.

Handwoven in spun silk and heavy linen, this reverse brocade features pieced together fragments of my woven fabrics, the edges of which have been sealed using beeswax tinted with charcoal from my home fire. I inserted home grown and harvested triangular sedge stems into the floats. My sedge grows along the stream the runs into the sea.

Opening on 15th July, it will run until 9th September. I’m proud to be showing woven artwork in area near to where I was born, which is so heavily connected with weaving.

COASTAL CURRENTS FESTIVAL

I was thrilled to participate in this years Coastal Currents Festival. I opened up my garden studio to visitors and received a steady stream of interested folk to talk with and show my work to.

I had a lot of incredible feedback and chats about my sculptural pieces and I’m excited to continue with this work now that I know it evokes what I’d hoped it would.

ARTIST SUPPORT PLEDGE - A GENEROUS SPACE AT THE HASTINGS CONTEMPORARY

I’m thrilled to have had my woven piece ‘undulations’ selected for the first ASP international group exhibition called ‘A Generous Space’ at the Hastings Contemporary.

Handwoven in spun silk and heavy linen, this reverse brocade features a simple triangle pattern inspired by the sea and life. I inserted home grown and harvested triangular sedge stems into the floats. My sedge grows along the stream the runs into the sea.
