Working with weaving, embroidery and sculpture - materials are intrinsic to Emily Mackey’s practice. She uses predominantly natural materials: homegrown, local, British sourced, vintage, found and foraged. Emily explores the notion of belonging via the visual recording of colour and landmarks - textures, patterns and shapes in her environment and she considers our connection with nature, our interconnectedness and our own thought processes.
